Opiate Addiction Intervention
Opiates are potent narcotics used by doctors and hospitals to temporarily alleviate intense pain either from injury or painful diseases such as cancer.  Opiates are derived from the opium poppy and are often taken because of the feeling of euphoria they bring about.   Some common types of opiates are: Opium, Oxycontin, Heroin, Morphine, Vicodin, and Codeine. Opiates have severe health risks including: vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, fever, weight loss, chronic constipation, HIV/AIDS (if needles are shared), and death.
