The "lion and the lamb shall lay down together" is often cited a prophecy speaking of a literal utopia on earth to come - a Golden Age - referred to as 'The Millennium'.
 "Paradise Restored" - an age of Paradise on earth where there will be no death, sorrow, pain or sickness. The prophets described this era with the expression, " But there is a problem with this: the expression, the lion and lamb shall lay down together does not occur in the Bible! The closest we can get to it Isaiah 11:6.

The word psychology literally means “study of the soul”. What does it mean to get 'Addiction treatment'. It means learning what really happen to the brain and thereby the personality. Knowing how and why behavior changes with the use of intoxicants. It is not all your fault. This knowledge allow you to begin to forgive yourself and others. Healing the wounds of guilt, shame, & blame.

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together;
and a little child shall lead them.

Isaiah 11:6

  1. Char - I work in health care. I did plenty a medical detox. There is a fine line between making a patient comfortable and taking away their perception of suffering.

  2. Char - personally let the vital signs speak for the level of discomfort a patient has, not what the patient tells you

  3. Loriann Witte to Char - Of course, the perception of suffering is very powerful. That's why home detox makes the doctor's good medicine just another drug of abuse. The supportive therapeutic setting infused with the tried and true recovery quotes does so much to start changing the way an addict thinks of themselves and their place in the world.

  4. Loriann Witte I have developed a belief that the addictive personality has a low tolerance for physical and emotional distress. The person is polluted with drugs when they come for a detox. They are most often very frightened of the pending pain during the titration. To let them know that the doctor is not a hard nose who is insensitive to their fears and complaints, really helps. We are not running a race to get them off of everything as soon as possible. The goal is for the person to survive and be medically stabilized first then for them to feel safe and cared for. This settled feeling establishes a trusting situation where they can open their heart and begin to learn and grow. The ultimate goal is a chance for long term recovery, clean time. Physical dependency maybe Axis I but emotional addiction makes or breaks the long term goal. Char Manley

There is a power of good in the universe that can be used by me and by every other person to create health, abundance and love. Use it now.
